Day 02- Dambulla
Golden Temple of Dambulla and the rock fortress of the Ancient City of Sigiriya are Sri Lanka’s two signature sights. After having breakfast at your hotel proceed for a full day tour of Golden Cave Temple and Sigiriya. The cave monastery, with its five sanctuaries, is the largest, best-preserved cave-temple complex in Sri Lanka. The excavated shrine-caves, their painted surfaces and statuary are unique and have been in continuous use for over 22 centuries. Then proceed for Sigiriya Rock Fortress and City. The towering rock outcrop of Sigiriya is one of Sri Lanka's most spectacular natural landmarks. The ancient rock fortress and palace of Sigiriya, currently standing in ruin, is a magnificent site which is surrounded by beautiful gardens, reservoirs and other structures. Evening at leisure.
